Onboarding — Create Your AI Worker
The one-screen worker creation flow, the resumable progress, and the editable vs permanent fields.
Onboarding — Create Your AI Worker
A focused guide to the one screen that stands between a paid subscription and your first chat.
The Form — Two Fields
| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Worker name | Nora, Bob, Atlas | Display name used in chat and email. Can be changed later. |
| Email prefix | nora → nora@ai.allorc.com |
The worker's mailbox address. Must be unique. Cannot be changed later. |
When you click Create my worker, three steps run in sequence: creating the AI worker (registered in database), setting up the worker email (provisioning mailbox), and finalizing setup (registering with agent runtime). When finished, you're sent straight to chat.
Resumable Flow
If you close the tab mid-setup, just come back — it resumes where you left off.
What If a Step Fails?
A red panel shows which step failed with a Retry button. Common causes:
- Network issue — try again.
- Email prefix already taken — choose a different prefix.
Editing the Worker
| What | Can be changed? |
|---|---|
| Worker name | No — permanent after creation |
| Model | Yes — Settings → Agent |
| Email prefix | No — permanent after creation |
See Settings →.
A worker is per user account, not per Space or Project. The same worker operates across all your work.
